Come by the MOEG on Saturday, February 3rd for an introduction to 3D printing and 3D modelling, facilitated by designer Andre Baynes and presented by Xpace Cultural Centre! The event is FREE and all are welcome, however spaces are limited so please RSVP through Eventbrite (link here.)

In this workshop, participants will learn how to turn concepts into computer models for 3D printing. The workshop will equip students with the fundamentals of constructing “watertight” print (“Watertight” is a term used to describe a 3D mesh suitable for 3D printing.)

Skills Learned:

  • Intro to 3D modelling for 3D printing
  • Basics of spline modelling
  • Software tools for working with digital fabrication

Andre Baynes is a digital artist and designer. His work looks at human progress and the existence (or lack) of blackness in contemporary visions of utopia. His work attempts to link the development and evolution of technology with culture and identity, using illustration, video, and sculpture.

This workshop accompanies the exhibition For Us, By Us, produced with the support of the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council.
